DELTA legal has been a proud member of the prestigious international network of law firms, Interlaw, for many years. This October, our partner Libor Vacek attended its annual global meeting, where more than 200 lawyers from around the world gathered in the heart of Scotland.
Gothic Edinburgh, with its cobblestone streets and rich history, provided the perfect backdrop for three days filled not only with sharing legal expertise and exploring current developments in law, but also with inspiration, strengthening long-term international partnerships and establishing new ones, and discovering local cultural wealth. The conference program offered a wide range of expert lectures and workshops focused on current topics, under the auspices of this year’s meeting motto: Optimism and Opportunity In An Era of Change.
As is tradition, the meeting also featured a rich cultural program. Participants tried traditional cèilidh dances that got even the biggest sceptics on their feet and enjoyed an indescribable view of the illuminated city during a cocktail reception at the iconic Edinburgh Castle. But there was also a private tour of the Scottish crown jewels, as well as a tasting of the legendary Scotch whisky.
We are pleased that the Interlaw Cares charity initiative continued at the Edinburgh meeting, offering participants the opportunity to contribute to cleaning the banks of the local river. In wellington boots and with garbage bags in hand, lawyers from around the world joined forces to make the environment cleaner and healthier.
