Are you an obliged person under the AML Act? Report your contact person to the FAO!

Effective from 1 March 2025, obliged persons under Act No. 253/2008 Coll., on Certain Measures Against the Legalization of Proceeds from Crime and Financing of Terrorism (the “AML Act“) are required to report a contact person to the Financial Analytical Office (the “FAO“). Be aware that this obligation must be fulfilled by 3 March 2025 to avoid potential fines.

The contact person should have sufficient knowledge of AML matters, as their primary duty will be to communicate effectively with the FAO and ensure compliance with AML obligations.

The contact person can be reported by completing a special electronic form available at FAO wep pages. The form must then be submitted to the FAO. The form requires, among other things, the identification details and contact information of the contact person, as well as the specific timeframe during which they will be available for communication with the FAO. It is also possible to report multiple contact persons.

If you would like more details about this obligation, the AML Act requirements in general, or assistance with reporting a contact person, do not hesitate to contact us. We will gladly help you adapt to the new requirements.

This document is only a general statement and is not legal advice on a specific matter.
